In an ever-shortening circle of readers, I've joined the few who still like to write stuff up instead of conjuring YouTube videos up.
I'm an engineer by profession, amateur astronomer and a part-time chess player. Located in Michigan, USA, I'd like to share my thoughts, analysis and accomplishments in stargazing and chess.
My astronomical equipment include 2 telescopes, a 10" Explore Scientific dobsonian and a 102 mm Celestron refractor with a small collection of eyepieces, finder scopes and filters. Not too much into astrophotography as yet and the images I'll be posting, are shot from my phone through the eyepieces. So please bear with the achieved quality.
As for chess, I've been a fan of the game and playing since the age of 5. My dad and my brother taught me the basics of chess and I was playing casual games until very recently. Since the last 3 years or so though, I started participating in USCF rated tournaments and currently am a 1700+ rated player (USCF) with a decent know-how and a passion to improve my level.
Thanks for stopping by. Expect to see more regular content.
Cheers,
Astrogambit.
